1. Click on the download link.
- "Did you find the link? When you clicked
on it did #2 happen?"
-
2. A Window comes up called the "File Download"
window/dialog box and asks you to either "Run this
program from its current location" or "Save this
program to disk". Choose "Save to disk".
- "Did you see this window? and Did you
choose "Save to disk?""
-
3. The next window that you see is entitled "Save
As" and you will see a list of folders and files from
your computer. This window allows you to navigate to
any folder on your computer and when you click on the
"Save" button, that's the place where this program
will be located after the program has been sent over
the phone lines. (If you don't have a Download Folder
already created and designated in your browser's
Preferences, you can just tell it to save it onto your
Desktop temporarily. That way, it will be easy to find
once the download is finished.)
- "Were you able to create a Download
Folder? If not, where did you save the program?
After it was finished downloading, were you able
to find it?"
-
4. The program begins to come across the phone
lines. It should take about 15 minutes if your modem
is a 56K or just one minute if you have DSL.
- "Did you see a progress bar, indicating how
fast it was being sent and when it was
finished?"
-
5. After all activity has stopped, you use Windows
Explorer or My Computer to navigate to the folder that you previously
instructed the computer to place your downloaded file.
You will see the file "NPP.exe" there and if you click
on "Details" icon at the top of the window, the file
size information will be shown. The file size should
match the version that you have purchased and this
will indicate that you were successful in bringing the
file from our server into your computer.
- "Were you able to use Windows Explorer or My Computer to
find your download?"
-
6. You then double-click on "NPP.exe" and up comes
a window entitled "Winzip Self-Extractor". It says to
"Unzip to folder:" and in the white box it says
"C:\EZRecord\". When you click on the button "Unzip",
it will automatically create a new folder on your
computer called "EZRecord" and will uncompress the
files of NPP. Close the Self-Extractor after it does
it's job.
- "Did you see the Winzip Self-Extractor
and did it put your NPP files into a new folder
on your hard drive called "EZRecord"?"
-
7. Again using Windows Explorer, you navigate to
your new folder, EZRecord, and open it up. Inside you
will see a "ReadMe.txt" file that you should
double-click and print. These are the instructions for
starting to use NPP.
- "Did you print out the "ReadMe.txt"
file?"
-
8. The main application icon for the Runtime
Version is "Nursing Productivity Pak.exe".
The main application icon for the Network
Version is "START.fp3". Double-click on
these icons and the program will start, taking you to
a "Main Menu". Follow the instructions in the
"ReadMe.txt" file to sample some of the features of
NPP.
- "Did you double-click on the "Nursing
Productivity Pak.exe" file? and if so, "Do you
now see the Main Menu screen, with the blue sky
background and multi-colored buttons?"
