The NPP can import existing records from any existing data system via ODBC.  Open Database Connectivity (ODBC) is a widely accepted application programming interface (API) for database access.  During setup, existing patient records are imported into NPP, either directly via ODBC or from a data file previoiusly exported by your data system.  NPP is not designed to interface exclusively with a particular system but will flexibly import patient data from a variety of existing sources, minimizing the need for manual data entry.
